The LEBS conducts basic research that focuses on the molecular mechanisms and interactions that govern major cellular processes in the normal and diseased cell, most notably including cytoskeletal dynamics, membrane traffic and cellular proteostasis. To that end, our studies combine biochemistry, structural biology, biophysics and cell imaging and biology. The department is organized in 10 research groups which share technical facilities in protein sciences, and welcomes students and post-docs from all countries.
